What to bring to your appointment
Prior to your appointment, please bring your:
- Referral letter from your GP or optometrist
- Medicare card
- Private health insurance cared
- Pension or healthcare concession card
- List of medications you are currently taking
- Glasses or contact lenses
- Copy of visual reports from your optometrist or ophthalmologist
Please note that patients may require dilating eye drops during their eye examination. These can cause blurry vision which persists for a few hours after the appointment, during which it is unsafe to drive. Please arrange for alternative methods of transport after your appointment.
What to expect from your apppointment
During your first visit, our reception team will welcome you, help you complete our patient registration form, and check you into your clinic visit. Our patient registration form is used to ensure your medical history, personal details and medication list are entered into our system.
Following check-in with the reception team, you will be seen by one of our clinical assistant staff to check your eye pressure, vision, and dilate your pupils with eye drops.
Please allocate 1-2 hours for your appointment, including waiting time. We understand that your time is valuable to you, but in order to ensure you are properly examined and treated, we strive to give adequate time to you and your condition.
Dr Chang offers same day urgent treatment and surgery for eye emergencies, such as sudden loss of vision, eye infection or retinal detachment. Such emergencies may delay regular appointment schedules but our reception team will contact you when possible to notify you in advance. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
Appointment cancellation policy
Our reception staff will contact you a few days prior to your appointment to confirm your attendance.
We understand that unexpected changes to your circumstances may occur, and appointments may need to be rescheduled or cancelled. In such cases, please contact our reception team promptly so that your appointment time may be offered to a patient on our waiting list.
